Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas famously known as Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed October 13 1980, on the shores of Glen Cove New York United States. She's an actress and singer of her native United States. The talent of Ashanti was discovered in her teens. She was signed to Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance on Fat Joe's What's Luv? Also, she was featured in Fat Joe's track"What's Luv!" and the Ja Rules' track Never In Time, both of which became huge hit songs. In the case of Foolish and the track What's Luv at Number One, she became the first female artist to be featured in two tracks that were in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top 10 in the United States. Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, popularly referred to by the name Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York on the 13th of October, 1980. Tina Douglas, her mother is a former dance teacher. Ken-Kaide Douglas is her father. She is more youthful than Kenashia T. Douglas. Douglas named her after her mother, the Ashanti Empire located in Ghana where women held power as well as influence.
